Effects of Leaf and Fruit Application of Dichlorprop on Preharvest Drop , Ripening , and Ethylene Forming Systems in ¢¥ Tsugaru ¢¥ Apple Fruits


Abstract
To investigate the position effects of dichlorprop application on the preharvest drop, ripening, and ethylene forming system in ¢¥Tsugaru¢¥ apple fruits, 45.0 §·¡¤liter^(-1) of dichlorprop was applied on the leaf, fruit, or leaf + fruit 25 days before harvest (22 July). In leaf and leaf + fruit application of dichlorprop, preharvest drop, firmness, and total acidity of fruits decreased, while soluble solids, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), ACC oxidase activity, and ethylene production increased. However, fruit application of dichlorprop had little effect on preharvest drop and ripening of fruit.
